Over one million Xbox 360 units have been sold a across Australia and New Zealand. To commemorate this momentous event and be charitable at the same time, Microsoft had a celebrity filled auction and had special edition consoles up for bid. One of them was a Halo console designed by Oscar-winning, Richard Taylor of New Zealand’s Weta Workshop. The winning amount for the Halo console will be matched dollar for dollar by Microsoft New Zealand for a donation to local charity Cure Kids. Former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland put up her own airbrushed and signed console for auction. Proceeds would also go to the David Peachey Foundation.
